the most extreme of internet sports

This is a dark look into Domi's favorite addiction.

This is the world of online shopping/auctions, the more aggressive side of Christmas.

Lately we have both been drawn into the compulsive checking of two favorite sites that sell deals for a short amount of time (sometimes for only 5 minutes).

Transactions happen so quickly
The question is not "will you buy the item"
it is "will you return the item"

It's a fantastic game of chance, luck, and having your credit card handy.

It's been awhile, are you still here?

I guess life has been a little crazy and I haven't known what to say lately.

My cousin Eliot died on October 13th.

It was a disaster, he just had gotten home from over a year serving his country in Iraq.

Getting the call was a nightmare, he was 24.

I flew into Hawaii the next day, where he was when he died. My mom was there, his mom, and my aunt Cindy. My mom took this picture 2 days before he died.

There are no words to describe the loss we feel. I guess that is why I haven't blogged. He was an excellent person and am so glad I got to know him as well as I did. The time we lived near each other in Hawaii is now priceless.

So we had two military funerals one in hawaii one in portland. Like what you've seen in the movies. The guns shoot, the trumpet plays, my aunt is handed a flag folded in a triangle.

He was the 100th soldier from Oregon to die since the war in Iraq started.

Death is a rediculous thing to get your head around and it feels unfair. Remembrance day was especially hard.

The night he died my mom got to hug and kiss him and tell him how much she loves him. Nothing was left unsaid and that feels so good.

The rest of the month has flown by as they tend to do.
Only a couple more weeks of school to go till Christmas.
I'm heading to Hawaii on the 11th which I'm so ready for. Be excited for pictures of surfing. I need some beach, some photography, some Domi, and possibly some blogging. These things make me happiest.

Also making me happy is the new Alicia Keys album.
I feel like "Where do we go from here" is my song for the last month, she makes being sad sound so good.

School is fine, I dropped a class when things got crazy, and now I'm cruising till Christmas.
I'm making steps to give photography more time in my life. If you want me to shoot you or if you know someone who does let me know. I like it.
